A marketing OS, from a blank page for Global advertising group

The short version

First designer on the product, with no competitive landscape to borrow from. MVP approved by the group CEO.

Outcome

250+ wireframes · 60+ components

SC 01

A web-based operating system covering end-to-end media and marketing activities for clients and agencies — connected modules, not built in silos.

I was the first designer on the product, with only a few blueprints from the client and limited data to synthesise. The task was to funnel the backlog and define the site map at feature level.

SC 02 · No map

A web-based marketing operating system with connected modules — not built in silos, but integrated, flexible and configurable for each client. I was the first designer on the product, working with product owners and data scientists in Germany and strategists in North America.

SC 03 · Discover, define, design

Two weeks of discovery closed the product, data and design strategy. Three weeks to finalise the approach: roadmap, data integration, wireframes and feedback into the design system. Then the MVP, from a blueprint architecture frozen with product owners to wireframes and mock-ups.

SC 04 · Design

We designed the planning flows — scenarios, configuration and touchpoint exploration — and the campaign data views behind them, so a planner could see budget, creatives, growth and status by market in one place.

Impact and feedback

FeedbackPublicis Sapient · 2020–21

The UX ideas and wireframes presented triggered multiple thought processes, sometimes even changing the direction of the client's thinking. Despite a convulsive route, he and his team presented a compelling solution that ended with approval from the group CEO for the MVP.
